Privacy Policy

Overview

GS App is a local-first Progressive Web App. All of your sale data — parties, inventory, transactions, and settings — is stored only on your device. No account is required to use GS App. Wozserv does not have access to your sale data unless you explicitly choose to link with GS Registry (see below).

Data stored on your device

GS App stores the following in your browser's local storage, on your device only:

• Seller (party) names and colors
• Inventory items — names, prices, UPC barcodes
• Transaction history — items sold, amounts, payment methods, timestamps
• App settings — tax rate, payment labels, receipt text, etc.
• An anonymous install ID (a random UUID generated on first launch) used only for analytics if you opt in

This data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself (via the file export in Settings) or back it up to your own Google Drive.

Google Drive backup

GS App offers an optional backup to your personal Google Drive. If you use this feature, your app data is written directly to your own Google Drive account. Wozserv does not receive, store, or have access to that data, it goes to Google's servers under your Google account and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

When you sign in with Google, GS App receives your Google profile information (name, email address, and profile picture). This information is used solely to display your account details to you within the app on your device. Your Google account information is never transmitted to, recorded by, or stored on any Wozserv servers. It exists only in your browser's local storage on your device and is cleared when you sign out.

Anonymous usage analytics

GS App optionally collects anonymous usage data to understand which features are used most and find bugs faster. This is opt-in — you will be asked on first launch and can change your choice any time in Settings.

If you allow analytics, the following is collected:

• A random install ID (UUID) — not linked to any account or personal identity
• Event names (e.g. "transaction_completed", "barcode_scan_attempted")
• App version and platform (e.g. iOS-PWA, Android-Browser)
• Event counts and aggregate properties (e.g. number of items in a cart)

Never collected: item names, seller names, prices, payment amounts, or any personally identifying information.

Analytics data is sent to and stored on wozserv infrastructure (AWS) and used solely for improving GS App. It is not shared with or sold to any third party.

GS Registry linking

If you use the GS App → GS Registry linking feature, a limited subset of your data is shared with GS Registry so buyers can browse your sale inventory. The data shared is:

• Your GS Registry seller ID and listing ID
• Inventory item names, prices, and sold/available status

This data is stored on wozserv servers and is subject to the GS Registry Privacy Policy. No other GS App data (transactions, settings, party names) is shared.

Support form

If you contact us through the Support page, we collect your name and email address solely to respond to your inquiry. This information is not used for marketing and is not shared with third parties.

Third-party services

• Amazon CloudFront / S3 — hosts and delivers the app and this website. Standard server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) are retained by AWS infrastructure.
• Google Drive — used only if you enable the optional Drive backup. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not use advertising networks, marketing trackers, or any third-party analytics services.

Your rights

You have full control over all data associated with GS App. Here is how to access or remove each type:

• App data (inventory, transactions, settings) — stored only on your device. Export it anytime via Settings → Data → Export, or delete it permanently via Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All Data.
• Google Drive backup — if you enabled Drive backup, your app data was saved to your personal Google Drive. To remove it: open drive.google.com, click the gear icon → Settings → Manage Apps, find Garage Sale App, and click Options → Delete hidden app data. You can also sign out in Settings → Google Drive Backup → Sign out, which stops any future syncing.
• Anonymous analytics — tied only to a random install ID with no personal information attached. Opt out anytime in Settings → Analytics. To reset your install ID entirely, use Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All Data.
• Support form submissions — contact us via the Support page to request access or deletion of any message you have sent.
• GS Registry inventory data — if you linked GS App to a GS Registry listing, log into the Garage Sale Registry seller dashboard, find the listing that has GS App linking enabled, click unlink and Confirm unlink, and your inventory data will be removed from the server.
